For more than 15 years, Paradox has been covering cities with his mystic vertical lettering on skyscrapers and buildings. This distinctive language, known as „PARAGLYPHS“, mirrors geometric patterns found in nature and carries spiritual or truth-seeking messages. His works have become an integral part of the Berlin cityscape, characterised by the striking colours of red and blue. The sheer volume of his creations has made him one of Europe’s most recognisable street artists.
Paradox is considered to be the most professional illegal artist, whose identity is therefore top secret. He is not driven by destruction or the fame of his name, but by the unconditional will to share his messages of criticism of the system with everyone.
In his films, he stages the journey from idea to realisation, sharing a previously secret world with everyone. MRPP explores Berlin with special tools he has built himself, and hardly any door remains closed to him.
Paradox Paradise concentrates on his messages and artistic perfection. While his work can be found in art galleries as part of exhibitions, the urban space remains his preferred canvas. There he can take his messages directly to the people and make them think and reflect.
Since 2009, PARADOX has been working as an Urban Artist. In 2011, he gained significant attention through his guerrilla performances and video productions.
PARADOX creatively captures his messages using drone shots. His first film was released on DVD in 2010, titled “Berlin Kidz 1”, which showcases his action art involving parkour, train surfing, and graffiti. In 2018, he followed up with “Berlin Kidz 2”. In the meantime, he made several videos and uploaded them in his channel on YouTube.
In 2020, PARADOX painted his distinctive symbols on the 98 -meter-high former Berlin West Postscheckamt building. Interestingly, he had previously spray-painted the same high-rise and faced legal consequences from the former owner, the CG Group. However, two years later, he had a second opportunity to enhance the building’s facade legally.
Additionally, PARADOX has been staging his sculptures in the urban landscape of the capital city since 2020.
In 2021, he released an independent documentary film titled “Spiritual Letters”, exploring the connection between life and art in the urban environment. Both “Berlin Kidz 2” and “Spiritual Letters” premiered at the Berliner Kino Babylon.
During preparations for the exhibition “Talking… And Other Banana Skins”, PARADOX created the ONE WALL near the Urban Nation Museum in Berlin in 2022. When closely examined, the letters on the wall form the word “FREEDOM”, referencing his exhibited work within the museum.
Since 2021, he has been exhibiting in galleries and is represented in museums as well.
PARADOX has made great strides and perfected his ability to create unique, large sculptures that stand out in the city. He carefully plans the installation and adapts it to the specific location, color scheme and design to ensure that it fits perfectly into the environment. Every step, from the choice of location to the installation of the sculpture, is carefully thought through.
Every step, from the choice of location to the installation of the sculpture, is carefully considered. Paradox’s street installations are distinctive works of art, never mere copies. His art is very popular, and people from all over the world come to Berlin to see his works in the city, but unfortunately many of his sculptures have been stolen. To counteract this, he uses his ropes to install them at great heights on walls. Sometimes, he even includes a GPS tracker in them.
His extreme passion for creativity fuels his quest for truth and freedom. PARADOX is a globally recognised artist known for his „vertical rope graffiti“, a term he coined and made famous worldwide. The technique enables him to paint locations that were previously considered inaccessible. PARADOX leaves his messages on buildings up to 100 meters tall and even wind turbines using vertical characters called paraglyphs. Paradox sets new standards in the graffiti world by using ropes to scale the highest points of buildings, rooftops, and seemingly inaccessible locations. His messages spread consciousness and encourage the pursuit of truth.
PARADOX PARADISE is more than an artist; he’s a city adventurer who loves to discover the stories that the city keeps secret. His journeys are famous, taking him to the top of Berlin’s buildings and even further. Like a modern explorer, he finds the hidden parts of the city and turns them into his canvas, all while showing great care for the buildings’ beauty.
His ability to explore is second to none, mixing physical skill with creative flair. Whether he’s rappelling from high places or finding his way through complex streets, PARADOX doesn’t just make art; he becomes part of the city. He captures and records every fascinating piece of architecture he finds on his adventures.
Following PARADOX successful solo show debut with Paraglyphs in 2022, he showed his latest works in his show ORNAMENTS at Galerie Grolmann from March 15 to April 21, 2024.
The Ornaments exhibition continued to play with his unique language, the PARAGLYPHS and dissolved them into a microcosm of fractal elements and geometric patterns.
At the same time, new sculptural works, such as those Paradox has increasingly installed in urban spaces in recent years, found their way into the exhibition accompanied by new types of ancient characters.
Since OKT 2024 PARADOX PARADISE don’t work with Galleries anymore. You will still be able to see his work in Museums like URBAN NATION, Berlin (GER), LAY-UP, Danzig (PL) or STRAAT, Amsterdam (NL).
